About Me
First and foremost, I am a mom to two beautiful boys, one with Autism and one with Down Syndrome. You can follow our small but mighty adventures at @astrosanddinos.
In the in-between, I am an artist, illustrator, storyteller, animator, and photographer catching up on a lifetime of ideas. I have a lot, sometimes to a fault, so a handy dandy notebook is my favorite sidekick. I like to call it my external memory.
I am inspired by nature, space, a dash of dark, a sprinkle of whimsy, everyday adventures with my family, and my wild imagination.
I use traditional mediums (pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oil) as well as digital, and photography (mostly nature and astrophotography).
My art carries a lot of line work, black backgrounds, high contrast, and black and white with pops of color. You'll find symmetry and balance, asymmetry with purpose, pattern, texture, and negative space. Some pieces are very character and story driven.
Every life experience sparks an idea, every idea becomes a story, and every medium helps me tell that story.
